Contactless skin-temperature awareness on a dedicated 5-inch display. Built for the nursery, not the network.
A wellness device, on purpose. Not a medical device.
“At 3 AM, my son Reed's skin was warmer than it should have been and the monitor next to my bed showed nothing. That was the night the gap became obvious. And it's the night Nonnanest started.”
It is an absolute breeze to use. It operates without WiFi and you don't need to download an app to receive notifications — it's all available on the parent monitor. It's a pure “plug-and-play” experience.
Mounts on the wall, flex arm, or crib. Reads skin temperature from up to four feet away — no touching, no wearable, no attention needed from your baby.
The camera talks only to your handheld. Frequency-hopping spread spectrum — the same secure protocol used by air-traffic radios. No router, no cloud, no app.
A real screen you can prop by your bed. Live view, skin-temperature awareness, adjustable alert threshold. Your phone stays your phone.
Two things nobody else in the category delivers together — and the two ideas behind every design decision we've made. Each has its own page. Both are worth your time.
Contactless skin-temperature awareness, calibrated to your baby's baseline. A wellness monitor, by design, that supports your awareness instead of trying to replace your judgment.

Read the privacy page“The quality is superb. The camera lens is crystal clear, and the physical housing feels durable and well-constructed. The parent monitor is slim and easy to navigate.”
“I love any baby monitor that operates without WiFi. I also like the non-wearable temperature tracking.”
“Goes way beyond a basic video monitor by integrating smart tracking and wellness alerts. It doesn't just show you your baby; it actively helps you understand their environment without requiring wearable sensors.”
“Since it's a passive device, my baby isn't even aware it's there, allowing them to sleep completely undisturbed.”

Nonnanest is a wellness device, not a medical device, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Temperature readings are for informational purposes only to help parents monitor general wellness and comfort. For any health concerns, always consult a pediatrician or qualified healthcare provider.
A plain-English explanation of FHSS, closed networks, and why the safest video is the video that never leaves your house.
What the reading on your Nonnanest actually tells you, and what to do (and not do) with it.
Why we chose a dedicated 5-inch display instead of your phone. It's a design decision with second-order effects.
An interactive checklist grounded in pediatric and safety guidance from the AAP, CPSC, and EPA. Eight short sections, six minutes, a printable summary at the end. No signup required.
Walk through your nursery against current pediatric guidance — temperature, humidity, crib setup, monitor placement, lighting, sound, and air quality. Reviewed by a registered nurse for clinical accuracy.
No jargon, no runaround. Just clear answers.
No. Nonnanest uses passive infrared sensors to read your baby's skin temperature from up to 4 feet away. Nothing touches your baby — no socks, no ankle bands, no clips, no straps. Mount the camera directly above the crib and it does the rest. Every other device that tracks wellness insights requires a wearable — Nonnanest is the only one that doesn't.
No. Nonnanest communicates directly between the nursery camera and parent handheld using FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) encryption. No WiFi, no cloud, no internet dependency. Private by design, not by promise.
Every other device that tracks wellness insights requires your baby to wear a sock or ankle band. Nonnanest is the only monitor that senses skin temperature contactlessly — nothing touches your baby. We also don't require WiFi, don't need an app or phone, and have no subscriptions. We're built for parents who want skin temperature awareness without putting anything on their baby.
Surface skin temperature, from up to four feet away, with no wearable and nothing touching your baby. It also reads the room temperature, because the room affects the skin. Both show on the display.
We test every reading against a NIST-traceable blackbody calibration source, the same kind of reference used to check professional and medical infrared instruments. Nonnanest is calibrated to work within recommended ambient temperatures of 69–75°F and between 3 and 4 feet from baby, at a safe distance. While it works closer than 3 feet, pediatric guidance and our own guidance is to always maintain a 3-foot distance from baby.
Skin runs cooler than the inside of the body, and how much cooler depends on the room. That's normal, and it's true of every contactless thermometer, including the one at your pediatrician's office. What matters for you isn't the exact gap. It's that skin temp goes up when your baby warms up. That's the signal Nonnanest is built to catch.
Because they're measuring different things. Your thermometer reads inside. Nonnanest reads the surface. Neither one is wrong. If Nonnanest shows something elevated, that's your cue to reach for the thermometer, not a replacement for it.
Check your baby with a contact thermometer. SightAware is built to get your attention, not to answer the question. Because every baby's baseline is different, you set your own alert threshold on the handheld, typically 2 to 3°F above your baby's usual reading. If anything concerns you, call your pediatrician. That part never changes. Read the full guide to your readings →
